    Didn't want to hijack the post below. My question is on a 1650 and 1850 during stationary pto operation does it matter what neutral range the transmission is in to lube properly? I've never given it any thought before, just curious if it matters.

    273 update

    It's been awhile, but I want to thank everyone who offered advice on what to look out for on the 273 New Holland. So far I've square baled 7 round bales, so about 90 squares. Only missed the first bale and hasn't missed a knot since.

    NH 273

    I just bought a NH 273. Looks rough, probably sat outside some. I pulled out all the old hay from the chamber. Needs new wedges in the chamber for sure. What are some other things to check before I feed it some hay? The fellow I bought it from had the manual and gave it to me, so I have that. Thanks
