Spreader apron chain

Replacing the apron chain in my manure spreader, T-bar style chain, does it make any difference witch way the links are welded to the slats? The one Shoup sent me is the opposite of my old one. Maybe these chains it doesn't matter???

I would have the riser of the slat to the rear pulling as it is less likely to bend.
