    JD loose drive disc

    Looking at the clutch on my 1948 JD A. Washed everything off on the engine side and hand lubed the toggle bolts and roller bearing. Going back with the drive disc (item number 7 in my I&T manual) I've found that the retaining washer is not contacting the disc. There's ~0.070" clearance/play...

    Valve Timing check, 1948 JD A

    I'm checking the valve timing on my 1948 JD A. (A tractor I inherited from my father-in-law.) I can't find any timing marks on the crank or cam gear. When I roll the flywheel until the left hand exhaust valve has no lash left, the words "LH Exhaust Open" are a good two inches past the mark on...
