    JD 6420 and 6430 good, bad and ugly?

    We have been looking to update our loader tractor and have been looking at a few 6420 and 6430 FWA outfits. Most of them are PowerQuads but we did look at one IVT trans. Most of them have been in the 4 to 6 thousand hour range. Who is running them and have they had any issues?? Thanks in advance.

    Anyone ever seen a broken FWA axle on a 7000 series??

    I saw this one at the dealer the other day. It had snapped the front axle housing right by the steering joints. I can't say that I have ever seen a FWA with a broken housing... But then, some people can break anything.

    I found this old girl at a local dealer a couple weeks ago, and after some dickering, I was finally able to make a deal on it. It was 7 below today, so I have to wait for a bit warmer weather before I bring it home.

    706 gas head interchange.

    I have a friend with a 706 gas that lost compression on one cylinder. We pulled the head and found a bad exhaust valve. He has access to a 301 combine motor for another head. I know the 301 head will work on a 291 motor but I am pretty sure his has the 263 in it. Will it still work?

    Help identify a wagon running gear

    Just picked up a couple running gears today. One was an 8 ton 5026 Electric and the other was a Westendorf. I am not sure if it is a 6 ton or an 8 ton. It has 5 bolt hubs, but when side by side with the Electric, it looks just as heavy. I know the Electric gears didn't have a six bolt hub...
