    I always use the foot clutch to shift, and have no problems with either clutch. With tractor running sitting in neutral, when I push in the foot clutch the transmission continues to spin. By idling the tractor way way down, I'm able to shift out of neutral. Planning on putting heavier weight...

    WD45 hand clutch

    On my WD45 the transmission won't stop spinning to shift out of neutral unless I pull back a little on the hand clutch. That stops the transmission from spinning and I can now shift out of neutral into gear without grinding. Any ideas on why?

    I idled the tractor down to the point where it would barely stay running, and it will shift out of neutral now. Planning on putting the 90 weight oil back in - having the same problem with my 8N. Thanks for the help.

    We are the original owners of the tractor and this is a new problem. I've waited for 10 minutes and the gears never slow down and stop. I engaged PTO and let the clutch out in neutral, and then put the clutch back in, waited 10 minutes and with a pair of gloves tried to slow down the PTO...

    Installing new rings, pistons, and sleeves in a 1949 8N. There"s a red dot of paint up inside the new piston - does that indicate the direction for installation?
