    Ford Funk Starter

Thanks Everyone...I dropped it by a local starter shop that has been in this area for years. They work on a lot of tractors and in fact worked on this starter about 12 years ago. I am hoping they might have some old replacement parts on their back shelf. I'll let you know how things go:)

    Ford Funk Starter

Well sure enough the nose cone is broken. Unsure if that can be welded. Trying to figure out about buying a new/used starter. Any suggestions? THANKS to everyone for their help!!

    Ford Funk Starter

I have a Ford Funk with a 6 cylinder "Industrial" flathead. When I tried to start it the starter ran but did not turn the motor. It had a funny grinding sound. No previous starter problems. Video attached with sound. Is this characteristic of anything?

    Jubilee Radiator

Looking around I see some all aluminum radiators at a reasonable price. Both on ebay and amazon. Anyone using one of those?

    Jubilee Radiator

I have gone through two radiators...one last summer and one this summer. They start leaking at the upper seams. I believe they were one of the standard Chinese replacements. The question... can anyone suggest a good radiator for a Jubilee? Thanks! Rich

    800 PTO Shaft

Thanks for that! I see one on the shaft and a larger one in front of the bearing on the housing. Is there a third one on the other side of the bearing on the shaft? Looking in the IT manual I only see the two. But I can't get the darn circlips off anyhow. Tried with pliers, screw drivers etc...

    800 PTO Shaft

I have not taken it apart but sounds like that is the next step and will do that next. I see the circlip keeps the shaft from moving backwards. Is the bearing (pressed onto the shaft?) what keeps it from moving forward? Thanks!!

    800 PTO Shaft

When I took the PTO shaft out the circlips were in place. However, there is still about 1/2" of play forwards and backwards through the housing/bearings. Here are two pictures that show the play. Any ideas? Thanks!

    800 PTO Shaft

Sean-Thanks for that! I suspect your "Diagnosis" is correct. Several days ago when the problem started I noticed the shaft on the mower wasn't telescoping properly and suspected it was bent. I put a different shaft on that was working properly and the problem continued...so I suspect the...

    800 PTO Shaft

I have an 800 series tractor I use to mow using a bush hog. The lever to engage the PTO occasionally pops out of gear. I notice the PTO shaft has about 1/2" forward and backwards play. I am guessing this may be the problem. I assume I need to remove the PTO shaft and see what is going on. Any...

Forgot to add, Battery about 12.5V.

    8n No Spark

Thanks for the reply! Yes, it is a front mount distributor. I put a new starter on today (turns over MUCH better) ... still no spark so am assuming it is the "New" distributor. Meanwhile I tried running a wire directly from the battery to the coil and accidently snapped off the brass bolt on the...

    8n No Spark

I have an 8n that has been converted to 12V. I put a new distributer and 12V coil on it but no spark. 11.6V at the coil. The starter seems to drag badly and gets hot quickly. Could that draw enough current to be the problem? Thanks! Rich

    JD 915 Header

Thanks again for the help and suggestions! Here is what I did- The concern was when I tightened the new guards and hold-downs the cutter bar would not budge. I oiled things up as suggested. Then I loosened all the guards and hold downs (also used new wear plates) and then I could move the bar...
