    Yes I set the points as Clifford explained that they should be set on the high side of the distribute. Died out once assuming because the battery wasn't charging. Got the battery charging got it running again and did the exact same thing.

    Got it running. Ran good for about 10 minutes then went back to running like crap. Sounds like it running on about 2 cylinders and a third one tries to come in here and there. Convert to electronic ignition? Bout ready to sell this thing and go a brand new one. Please help

    Ok I changed points condenser cap and rotor. No firs, tractor ran before changing parts but not that good and old points were dirty. What did I do wrong? I set the points to .015 just before they start to open. Everything is put together as it should be

    another question. my governor linkage is sloppy loose. ive seen folks shimming it to take up the slack, yes this may work but wouldn't a new governor housing fix this as well

    sorry for the typo. Yes the 48 DID NOT have the proofmeter. I want to put one but would like to keep it original as possible. Would you guys do it or not do it.

    Recommendations while changing clutch

    I just bought my first 1948 Ford 8N tractor. Needs a clutch and a carburetor and radiator so far. What other parts would y'all recommend changing while I'm changing the clutch.
