1966 FORD 3000 Gas throttle question

finding parts for the old N series is MUCH easier than this 3000. to buy the friction washer for the throttle i would have to buy a pack of five. so i found a dealer way up in New York that had them in stock, bought one from them. found the misc clips on Ebay for the throttle rods, bought...

1966 FORD 3000 Gas throttle question

no worries, i just put my computer on its side and the pics looked just fine. the spring does seem to be about the same as mine in size and thickness.

1966 FORD 3000 Gas throttle question

for that price, i think i will find a comparable spring local. i am not about to pay 50 bucks for a spring. it better be a space shuttle spring for that kind of dough. i think the friction disc is gone, and they used a bigger spring to compensate so the throttle would stay i one spot

1966 FORD 3000 Gas throttle question

So a spring should be there? Going from the parts diagram on the new Holland website it does not show a spring. It has a huge amount of tension. I had a very hard time getting it back on when I took it off. Dang near a trampoline spring!!! Ill take a closer look tomorrow and look...

1966 FORD 3000 Gas throttle question

Here are the pictures. The large spring is the one I am not sure about. And you can barely see the bolt behind the spring that is loose with the wallowed out hole.

    8N Fender Skin Attachment Bolts

1966 FORD 3000 Gas throttle question

i took a look at the New Holland parts site, and it seems one of the springs i have is not original, its a very large heavy duty spring. could be the wear on my pivoting arm is coming from with such a high tension spring. i am guessing, maybe the friction discs are worn out, if i take that odd...

1966 FORD 3000 Gas throttle question

i bought a decent 3000 over the weekend, has some wear and tear but seems like a solid machine, except for needing rear tires pretty dang soon. i am making a list of things that need attention before i stick it down in the woods on bush hog duty for the foreseeable future clearing my home site...

nice looking machines. the grey paint will not be here until the middle of June, i can wait since i am going to have a lot of work. if i get finished before the paint arrives i'll prime the sheet metal and wait for the final sand prep and paint when it gets here. stuck a muffler on it...

1952 8N fixin' to get some love and attention

based on reading here and other forums, i went ahead and bought Tisco medium grey, cost is almost the same and most people seem to be happy with it. likely staying with the IH red since the Ford reds you see these days have too much orange look to them.

1952 8N fixin' to get some love and attention

i bought two 8N's a few months ago, both for parts. new wires, plugs and points filed and got them both to run. i picked the best from the two and combined a few parts and got this old gal. she has a busted block that has been repaired in the past, and the cyl head had a crack at the...

    Radiator cap shooting water?

this isn't good, you got her pretty hot. you could be looking at damage on piston rings, bearings etc. the oil needs to be replaced since you cooked the oil in the process. I'd be surprised if you come out of this without extensive damage. pull that radiator and have it cleaned. could...
