    Farmall H Distibutor Problem

I also tried turning it over and reading the volts so I don't think that is the problem. Would electronic ignition be something that helps with this? The tractor has always had a hard time starting, no matter the temperature outside or if you just shut it off.

    Farmall H Distibutor Problem

Hello, I have a 1946 H with a vertical distributor. I am not getting any spark. The wire that goes from the distributor coil to the distributor is not getting any power when it is connected to the distributor, however if I disconnect it from the distributor the wire will read 6.14 volts at both...

    Farmall h belt pulley shims

I pulled the belt pulley off my h to replace the seal, and in the process of chiseling it off I bent one of the shims in the process. I flattened it back out but it still is wrinkled and slightly turn. I can't seem to find any new ones anywhere, any suggestions? I don't plan on ever using the...

    Farmall h welch plug/freeze plug

The headgasket was replaced probably about 10 years ago by the previous owner who was having the same issue. I'd assume he retourqued it but I guess you should never assume...

    Farmall h welch plug/freeze plug

Do you know if I can access the plug without splitting the tractor or taking the engine out? Does anyone have any pictures of where it is located?

    Farmall h welch plug/freeze plug

Hello, I'm getting some antifreeze in my oil and I was wondering if the freeze plug would be the culprit. It is a 1946 H, did those have freeze plugs? The head was machined and the gasket was replaced multiple times so no issues there. Could I replace the frost plug without taking the...

    Brake seals 46 H

Hello, I am looking at replacing the seals in my brakes. I had watched the Steiner tractor video on replacing them and thought it looked easy, so I took my brake drums off to find it didn't look like hers. I'm assuming it's just a difference in years. I'm no mechanic so I just need confirmation...

    Distributor question Farmall h

I apologize if this is a silly question but this is my first tractor. I have a 1946 Farmall h that to my knowledge is all original. I have been looking at converting it to twelve volt, and I saw that converting the distributor to electronic ignition is also a good engine "update." I went out to...

    Farmall H oil pressure headache

I can't get it to fit over it, it seems like both the gauge and the line are 1/8th . I know the original gauge was a female and the new one is a male. Here are some pictures. I was thinking to maybe cut the extra part of the line off with a hacksaw but I was leary of getting any metal shavings...

    Farmall H oil pressure headache

Hello, I have been working on a 1946 Farmall H for which I bought a new oil pressure gauge from steiner. (Part # IHS452). I found that it needed an adapter so I ordered a 1/8th to 1/4th adapter seeing that it was in the description. (Part # ABC2353). When that didn't fit I tried the other...
