    Ill install magneto after i get it to spark. I set engine to TDC#1and pulled distributor n bracket from the governor. The gear drive notches are parallel to the ground. When i set the magneto to fire at #1 position can i pull gear out and reset it to match the magneto drive. Its at a 45°...

    The mag is correct model. Stamped on side. Cap could be replaced.

    Interesting that magneto cap has #1 at upper right and progresses around cap. Number 4 is closest to block. I thought #1 would be closest to #1 plug

    Ive seen videos about how to grip the handle. Magneto arrives Friday. Timing it..TDC #1 cyl. Remove dist. Install mag w rotor or whatever pointing to #1 wire?

    Ill use this pic for my resto. Did it have a choke rod? Mine does not and when i had carb rebuilt it did not come back with any linkage.

    Im restoring my 1939 B back to "original" condition. It has a distributor and coil. Id like to convert it to magneto after seeing several Cs at a show. Pros cons? Currently having inconsistent spark issue. I think its a condenser problem. And i see a coil n points in the mag refurbish kit.

    Misread my post. The governor does not move. The throttle rod goes back and forth but no action at the governor. The rods are all free; at the carb as well.
