    Alternator too big for FEL?

    Ok. In that case, I’m planning to remove the alternator entirely, charge the battery occasionally, and remove some belt links so the water pump functions. Would that work?

    I got it off a lot easier than I thought, and found the replacement pump. However, there seems to be quite a crusty buildup inside the pump, which I assume is also in the engine. I already did 2 batches of coolant cleaner when I bought it, so should I just put the new pump on and call it good?
