    RPM's on a 9N

    as I have said many times before I have two 9N's. Both are converted to 12 volt system with Pertronix ignition units. Only one has been totally converted to a can style coil and that I presume you just measure the RPM's with that coil wire. But how do you measure RPM's on a square can coil?

    steering pinion adjustment

    Following the directions I pulled the steering wheel and now have remove the lock nut but the lower nut I can't understand how by tightening it will drive the pinion further into the sector gears which I need because the the steering is skipping at certain points. Can someone please explain...

    I can't find any specific instructions in the shop manual to adjust the pinion gear. I have a lot of play in my steering wheel and I'm thinking that if I can lower the pinion gear a little that it might not skip outa wack and cause my front wheels to go we hocky.

    9N sector arms keep jumping.

    I followed the shop manuel how to adjust sector arms to realign but now they just keep jumping all over the place when I drive. Is there anything short of replacing the sector gears? It says to re engage them after you adjust them but I can't figure out what or how.

    Ford 9N fan direction

    How is it possible or make sense that the fan moves in the opposite direction of the firing order on the 9N? The firing order is from the drivers seat clockwise 1243.........but the fan moves in the opposite direction counterclockwise meaning the crank is moving counterclockwise

    How in the world did my fan get on backwards when it only goes on one way? Its riveted to a hollow bore yoke that bolts to the engine.
