These little kids are gonna be a problem

Got a new to me pickup

I meant it to stand for Big Dually, but that’s not what the kids think it means. I took a bad ankle sprain and cannot drive very comfortably right now, so my 15 year old got to drive me around today. He says it’s nicer than Little D, which is the 2011 one ton dually we’ve had for several years.

    Volunteers?

You’re definitely more ambitious than I am! Now I gotta go dump the trailer and stack it all pretty, too. The box is 7.5x12x2.5. 225cu ft or 1.75 cord stacked. Since it’s not stacked, I guessed it’s more like 1.5.

I am doing firewood all wrong!

Not nearly as expensive as this. If the bundle is $10 for 1 cu ft, that is $1280 per cord. That’s a downright bargain versus this…

I am doing firewood all wrong!

Bookface decided I am a good candidate to buy artisan firewood. Proof positive that the rich really do burn cash for heat… $5000 per cord firewood

    Volunteers?

Oops. I got the trailer full on Sunday. All black locust, about 1.5 cord. Sorry that I didn’t wait for you. I’m in the same state as you, just on the other side. I’m a half hour north of Dubuque

What will this old AC 66 all crop bring?

An old AllCrop 66 is up for online auction up in Sauk city this week. There are two, actually. This one looks the better one with a Hume reel. Allis combine link

I filled about 20 of these crates so far in the past week or so. Burr oak, cherry, elm, black walnut, whatever makes an ash…

    Volunteers?

I used to think that way, but then struggling to toss the second big one in over the first big one got annoying. Plus splitting it down more gives more surface area in the burn chamber of my OWB. Less die outs. Add the bonus of my wife and kids being able to tend the furnace, and splitting it...

Thinking of going to super singles on my tandem dual trailer

I loaded up the trailer like I would regularly. About 16000lb payload. The 16 ply doesn’t squat a bit. Another concern I have seen on other sites is the fact that the trailer is more likely to get stuck in muddy conditions and is harder to pul out when it gets stuck. I seldom use this...

Thinking of going to super singles on my tandem dual trailer

Either way I go, I’ll have plenty of tire. The trailer axles are 10k. The singles are 6005 lbs. The duals are 7280 for the pair. I agree on changing the rubber, my machine balks at 14 ply tires, it very likely won’t like 18 ply at all. But with a larger diameter rim, there’s a chance it...

Thinking of going to super singles on my tandem dual trailer

Hey all, I am to the wear bars on my 14 ply 16 inch trailer tires. For roughly the same money I can buy new rims and 18 ply 17.5 inch tires. The 18 plys have 6005 lb capacity versus the duals having 3640x2. I really want it to pull easier. Has anyone ever had any experience doing this? I am...

Bale Kicker vs NH Stackliner - Back In The Day

Neighbor had a stack liner. He really didn’t like it. He said it was high maintenance and it very very particular on bale length. He also said it didn’t like hillsides. He got rid of it and put a thrower on his Massey 128 baler.

How many small squares on a 25’ gooseneck trailer?

He was joking, I think. He did a lot of hauling for the local Mennonites. Had a 3/4 ton regular cab dodge flatbed, gooseneck flatbed trailer, gooseneck dump trailer. He was a very hard working fellow all his life. He died in his sleep at 79 between Christmas and new years this past year.

How many small squares on a 25’ gooseneck trailer?

CaseVAI has long stuck me as a dirty cop. A cop who doesn’t like the look of you and is gonna find reasons to cause you trouble. He probably has a buddy named Jim who works at waste management. He’d slip Jim a 50 and tell him to drop the hay off at his son-in-law’s place… Don’t be rude to...
