    Super Major

God Bless all you guys out there keeping history alive. This past weekend, I went to a local festival. Much to my surprise, I saw a vary nicely restored Super Major. I got to talking with the guy driving her. It turned out to be the tractor that I used as a kid on my mom and dads farm. Last time...

    Plow value

A good friend and neighbor asked me what her plow might be worth. I have no clue. It is a 3 bottom 14 or 16 inch John Deere. It looks complete and in reasonable condition. It was painted over with red paint, but the green is still there by the looks of it. I don"t know what model it is or how...

    Push Rods

I have one bent push rod in my '48 TE-20, Z-120 engine. It isn't kinked, but a gradual bend. Thoughts on straighteneing it? If straightening isn't suggested, where can I get one, used, new, pricing? Don't see them in the parts section of this site. Thanks for any info. Andy

    Super Major Pictures

Scott, Thank you so much. It looks just how I remember....minus all the black grime and crud. She was an awsome beast of a tractor. At least it seemed to me when I was young. I remember my father tying me to the seat so that I could steer the tractor while he and my uncles picked hay out of the...

    Super Major Pictures

When I was growing up, my family had two tractors. We had a Jubilee, and a 5000 Super Major Diesel. I can find all sorts of pictures of Jubilees. So far I haven't seen any pics that look like the Super Major. Do any of you fellows, or gals happen to know where I can find good pics of one...

    fuel tank solder

I fixed an extremely rusty motorcycle tank with Kreem at least ten years ago and it is still holding tight to the tank. Since I lined the tank, I've had no problems with rust, or anything else, plugging up my carbs. The process was easy, small tank and all. I can imagine that a big tank would be...

    Hood medallions on TO-20

This is only semi-related to the topic. My 48 TE-20 didn't have the side medallions either. Someone can correct me, but I think that none of the TE tractors of any year had them?

    Backfiring TO-20

You say it helps some to choke it? Is it posible that the final fuel filter or the main jet is partially clogged from some debris in the new line?

    TO 30 quit

When you say you have fire to the distributor, do you mean that you're getting a nice fat blue spark from the wire that plugs into the center terminal of the distributor cap? If that's true, are you sure the cap and rotor aren't the only issue?

    TEA20 on e-bay

I'm just curious. Is that tin foil below the grill? Interesting, not too durable, but interesting.

    tie rod ends

If you"re having difficulty with the taper. Go to your local auto parts store and ask for a pickle bar. Actual name I think is ball joint seperator. They come in different sizes so tell the clerk what it"s for and they should give you the correct tool. They are relatively inexpensive. $15 - 25...

    TE-20 Sucess...so far!

Wooooohooooo.....just got the motor to turn over by hand. It"s been stuck for better than twenty years. Used AirKroil and patience. Took it more than two months of periodic lubing and tugging on the hand crank. It turns over nice and free now. #1 cylinder exaust valve is stuck wide open though...

    Ferguson Black

www.sciencemuseum.org.uk I also searched for Ferguson Black. I got alot of junk, but waded through it and found a couple interesting tidbits. The Ferguson Family Museum has a bit of info, although, not as much as I would have thought. Happy hunting! Andy

    Ferguson Black

I just checked it out on line. They really don't have any great pics of it. Too bad, what I can see of it is beautiful. It is a rolling work of art.
