    Ford 918H Flail Mower

    I have to replace the bearings in my flail mower, they are the one's on the roller in the rear, checked with New Holland they are $125.00 each, after some research I found out they are a SKF 1207 double row bearings, if you Google that the range is from $16.00 to $87.00 talk about price gouging...

    My understanding is the U stands for utility- that being said my two JD's are U models and painted green from the factory,the 300 and 400 series came painted yellow.They were industrial.

    My John Deere's have the "third hand" or telescoping lift arms that was the best thing invented as far as hooking up to 3 point equip. I think Kubota copied them and have it available for there tractors also. I always wished my Fords had that on them.

    John Deere 1520 stalls

    My 1520 3 cyl. gas tractor runs for a while and then stall out like it's running out of gas,at first it would run a hour or two depending on the temp. and start acting up,it would loose rpm and then come back up to PTO speed and maybe go for 30 minutes and do it all over again,it never...

    I agree with Ultradog,a N-series and for that matter up into the # series tractors should not have a loader unless you have power steering,I had a 53 jubilee with a loader and you better have it pointed in the direction you want to go with a load or it was a hand full to steer.

    1520 301 fuel gauges

    Both my tractors have issues with there fuel gauges,when full they both read full,they stay on full till somewhere close to half full,then if you stop and turn the switch on they read 1/2 full,if you run the tractor they both tend to bounce between 1/2 and full until they get to some where...

    Tractor chain install

    Just helped my 80 year old neighbor install chains,does anyone else pay attention to how the latches face forward or back when installed,I'm 68 and haven't noticed that they have ever unlatched when facing the other way.

    I've had bush hogs with that design on them,it's so the PTO doesn't hit when you raise the mower,the blade shouldn't get that high to hit unless the bearing was bad or someone didn't tighten it down all the way.
