I have an opportunity to buy a 3 point Yanmar backhoe, does anyone have any thoughts on these and what would be a fair price for one? The owner is asking 2K for it and it is in good operating condition.
This one is PTO driven with it's own hydraulic system.Make sure it matches your tractor hydraulic system either both closed or both open center. Brother bought a belly mount and I made it 3pt mount. But then found out the BH was open center and tractors are closed center.
Make sure your tractor has the sub-frame, else the tractor will twist and snap in half.I have an opportunity to buy a 3 point Yanmar backhoe, does anyone have any thoughts on these and what would be a fair price for one? The owner is asking 2K for it and it is in good operating condition.
The owner is my brother and he just had open heart surgery so I will have to check the model # when I get up to Wisconsin to see him, it's not a large unit and has down riggers so I'm not to worried about my 1520 John Deere having a issue. I will get a manual after I get it in the spring, We agreed on a price and I bought it from him.Make sure your tractor has the sub-frame, else the tractor will twist and snap in half.
What Yanmar BH do you have? Depending on the model, the YTOG could have the manual for free.
Even with downriggers, these backhoes put a lot of force on the 3pt top link. The owner is my brother and he just had open heart surgery so I will have to check the model # when I get up to Wisconsin to see him, it's not a large unit and has down riggers so I'm not to worried about my 1520 John Deere having a issue. Oh, I thought this was going on your 8N. I didn't notice anything about a Deere. The owner is my brother and he just had open heart surgery so I will have to check the model # when I get up to Wisconsin to see him, it's not a large unit and has down riggers so I'm not to worried about my 1520 John Deere having a issue. Stabilizers (downriggers?) enable the hoe to put MORE not less stress on the tractor.I have an opportunity to buy a 3 point Yanmar backhoe, does anyone have any thoughts on these and what would be a fair price for one? The owner is asking 2K for it and it is in good operating condition.
It will be. You probably will wonder how you ever lived without it.This won't be beat on, no heavy digging, just thought it would be handy to clear some fence rows with small trees and a little brush like multi-flora rose. Thanks for the comments and concerns, I'll have to find out the model # and check back with bmaverick later.
I would hope the top link bracket would break before the rest of the tractor.Oh, I thought this was going on your 8N. I didn't notice anything about a Deere.
Yeah, you can twist and snap the JD1520 in half, even with the down riggers. rScotty and others on the YTOG have had very bad close calls of flipping the tractor with no sub-frame using the BH.
The manuals are not an easy find. And they have been out of print for decades. If it's the YBH1075, I have the complete manual in PDF for free.
I have a model YBH736, do you know if there are manuals available to download for that model?Make sure your tractor has the sub-frame, else the tractor will twist and snap in half.

I had replied with a ton of info where you had asked the question on my profile, look here.I have a model YBH736, do you know if there are manuals available to download for that model?
Not all Yanmar tractors use a closed-center hydraulic system. Yanmar produces a variety of tractor models with different hydraulic systems, including open-center and closed-center configurations. I think yanmar tractor customer service will be able to give you more information about that. They are always happy to answer all those questions. Are all Yanmar tractors closed center hyd? Thanks
