Well needless to say I’m learning. Come to find out I don’t have the front mount distributor, mine is on the front side with the governor mounted to the back side of it. Now I’m reading about a in line 4 . Found this researching firing order. And this firing order stated for the in line is the only versorder my tractor will crank up on. IDK if you know anything I’d greatly appreciate. I’m green as green can be and have no information on the tractor other than what I’m finding on line. The only difference I’ve found in the firing order is #2&#3 are reversed cause the in line is 1342

Now you say you have a side mount distributor. It might be best to start fresh with a new thread, without bad info in it confusing things. Tell what your tractor is, the distributor, 6- or 12-volt system, history and repairs, all in one place, maybe even throw in a couple pictures.

Lot of possibilities when the guy doesn't even know what he has! It might be an engine with CW or CCW distributor and it might have 1243 or 1342.
