1010 Field cultivator.

Im looking at buying a 1010 15ft field cultivator. Are they good? Were there any problems with them as far as leveling the ground. The one I am looking at has decent paint, good tires and shovels. The harrow has some damage and needs new tines put on. What is it worth or what have you seen them go for in your area? Thanks

A JD 1010 field cult will do a good job leveling IF ground is fairly clean of crop debris. The fold linkages can exhibit wear along with some broken hinges.

A model 1000 or 1010 will bring 1000 dollars even if it needs a little attention in that size. Add another 500 to 1000 dollars if larger than 21 foot and folding. A good harrow but as Tx Jim noted they are not designed for high residue applications.

I just sold the one I had $300.00. I hated it, bought a IHC pull type that I like. Even with the gauge wheels I could not keep it from gouging in hilly ground.

I don't know what type 1010 hd6gtom had but I pulled a 22 ft 1010 3pt over 100's of acres and it leveled the ground fine with no gouging with the gauge wheels. I'd rather have a pull type but this one belonged to my friend.
