My 1010 was having fuel problems , not getting a good flow cleaned the sediment bowl and lines ,checked tank for dirt still no luck so rebilt carb still runs then quits getting fuel. AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

Don,
I had done everything you did plus I shot some compressed air back up the fuel line to remove any debris from the tank opening. Solved my problems for now.

like rrland mentioned first take off the fuel cap and try running it and see if it stays running. proper vented cap
if that does not work. take off the line to the carburator both at the carb and the sediment bowl.
quickly turn on the fuel tap on the sediment bowl and see if there is a good constant flow out there. you will have to use a small can
to catch it coming out. do not let fuel run onto your starter, or your bound to have a fire. safety first.
if it does not flow well you have an obstruction in the inlet of the sediment bowl in the tank. you can carefully remove the sediment bowl assembly from tank
or very carefully take off the glass bowl and with the tap on blow back up into the gas tank. make sure you have the gas cap off and wear eye protection.
you are bound to get some gas on you and everything else this way but will definately know once the dirt lets go that there is better flow coming out of the
sediment bowl assembly.
this is a very common problem and unless there is good fuel flow from the sediment bowl to the carb you will not have a proper running engine.
also do not forget to take the fuel line and blow it out also. use a rag at one end and catch any debris to see what all comes out.
let us know how you make out.
one last obstruction area is the factory elbow fitting going into the carburator has a small screen on it. check it out if all else does not work.

I've had that happen on many different tractor and it has always been some junk in the sediment bowl assembly. The area that the gas flows down and into from the tank can/will get junk in it and slow the fuel flow down. I had that problem this summer on my Oliver S88. I remove the whole assembly from the tank and cleaned it out and the problem went away. I found what looked like small leaf in the inlet

Took your advice Darned if it didn t run like a top, guess I will be getting a new gas cap.THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE HELP . Don

Fire is right! I used a funnel to catch my fuel while diagnosing a fuel problem on my 1010 and run it into a bucket. Went fine until the metal funnel touched the positive lug on the starter. I was able to stay safe and no damage to the tractor as it was on the last drops of fuel but scared the crap out me. I now disconnect my battery anytime I work on anything.
