1020/ 300 industrial, adding mid pto?

We have a 300 industrial which I believe is pretty close to the 1020. How involved is it to add a mid pto? Is it fairly straight forward or a nightmare? I guess the other question is how rare are the parts? Thanks in advance.

Mine has a mid pto,and everyone i've seen had one.I still don't know what good they are.

My actual brainstorm is a from mounted brush hog/mower. I get rather annoyed by the grass that stands back up when mowing. The field looks great for about 3 hours then turns to corduroy. My mind turned to the European tractors with a front 3pt running front mounted haybines and I figure I can do the same.

If the mid pto idea is a bust then I'm thinking of building an offset brush hog.

With much expense and time anything can be done. I think one would have to R&R trans to install mid pto. I think it would cost effective to trade for or buy a tractor with mid pto on it .
