1020 hyd. pump noise

My 1020 makes a noise until you raise the 3pt. hitch then it stops until it raises all the way. Is there a filter or screen that can be checked and is there a filter on the pump. Is there any pictures that will show this? Also mine doesn't have power steering. Thanks again.

Noise comes back when rockshaft stops? What happens when the scv's are used? Is there a loader on the tractor?
Has anybody serviced the little insert wear thingys in the front pump drive coupling?
It appears that some slob lost the operator's manual. The good news is a call to 1-800-522-7448 will fix that.
There is more info, instructions and pictures in there. A few sentences here pales in comparison.
There is a 2nd wee screen in the front pump inlet but it's usually ok.

Assuming the hydraulics are working properly, check the drive coupler. The rubber bushings could be bad or the coupler could be loose on the pump shaft. It will chatter when there is not a load on the hyd system but go away when using hyds.

hydraulics work great. no loader on tractor, noise comes back when lift is raised all the way up. haven't checked the coupler or rubber grommets. if a slob lost the book to it , must have been the one before me. thanks again for your help.
