I'm about to replace the Teflon seal/washer and O-rings, possibly the shaft and bushings, depending on wear. I replaced some of these parts many years ago. I've noticed folks talking about heating the Teflon washer up super hot before trying to put it in the bushing. I did not need to do that years ago when I replaced those parts. Has there been an improvement with the seals that necessitates that it be heated to put it in now?
Thanks for any info,
Steve

I would put seal in container of warm water or oil to soften but not HOT liquid. You can probably install room temp seals also with little to no problems. Upon assembly be sure to remove any side to side movement of shaft with shims

I used a warm cup of water to get mine pliable. I could not get them in without doing this and ruined my first one. I bought an
extra set just in case.

I may buy an extra set of o-rings and washer/seal too.
Just in case I damage one... seems like a good thought...
Thanks
