1020 operating a 6 foot woods brush hog

My 1020 is in great shape and runs like a top. Unfortunately, my ancient 5 foot brush hog has bit the dust. I have an opportunity to buy a used 6 foot woods brush hog. Will this mower be too much for my 1020?

1020 should handle a 6ft mower much better than some much lower hp/older tractors could handle a 5 ft rotary cutter

I agree. I've seen guys try to run 5ft bush hogs with Ford 8ns. 1020 shouldn't be a problem.

We run a 7 foot mower with our 2240, and some might
consider that a bit large for that tractor. But its taught
me that when the mowing gets tough, just slow down,
and/or overlap portions that are already mowed. And a big
mower can be a bit heavy for a smaller tractor, so you
might need front weights.

We run a 6 foot Bush Hog with our JD 4600, its 37 pto hp, and it works fine in most cases, in heavy brush I have
to go real slow, but it has a 12/12 reverser transmission, so we have lots of speeds.

1020 can handle a 6 foot bushhog with no problem.
