I am working on a J.D. 1050 bucket loader and someone added a backhoe to it .It has been setting for a year. Put a battery in it the switch would not work (just a click like a relay)so I jumped the starter and it started right up.Now the problem. The bucket,3 point arms and the hoe will not move. acts like the Hydraulic pump is not engauged. Is there something I am not doing? Never worked on one of these and no book.It is a 3 cylinder 4x4. Any help is welcome.

Did you check hyd oil level??? Did you change hyd filter(part # TY9425E) & check/clean screen??

Had it been working, broke and was then parked? Was it working when parked? Did somebody try to tinker on the backhoe, it never worked and was parked?
Confusion between open and closed Center hydraulics is a common problem.

It was cold when we got it running. This weekend am going to take the pressure line off of the pump and see if the pump is putting out oil.The strange part is the bucket is down and front wheel is in the air. When you pull the handle back to rais the bucket the front wheels should drop to the ground with the engine running or not but they do not. Thanks for the info. on the suction side. Will check that also.

If rear wheels are locked(brakes on) the frt end will stay in the air. Rear wheels need to turn a little or bucket slide to allow frt wheels to go down while letting pressure off of bucket.
