I am wanting to put a tricycle front end under a 1066. Is this something that will bolt right up or am I going to need to fab some parts to make it work?
Thanks
Bud

After you remove the wide front on a stock 1066, there is nothing for the narrow front to bolt to, and nothing to turn it. The stock 1066 wide front is steered by an external cylinder that's bolted directly to the axle. The front bolster that the wide front is just a solid cast piece, a "dry" bolster.

You would need to locate and install a wet bolster, with the steering cylinder built in.

You will need front hydraulic bolster out of a 06 or 56 and shims for the wider 66 frame. Then run 06 power steering lines to hook it up.

if you want it to be 'correct' you'll need a 'wet' bolster for a 66 series. that will set you back around 1500 or so for one of those. Its expensive to put a narrow front under a 66

They could be ordered from the factory with wet bolsters, or they could be retrofitted at the dealer at delivery time.

Some farmers still wanted the narrow front for a mounted corn picker.
