1066 Gremlins

I had bought an IH 1066 that had a cab fire. I knew it was going to be a challenge, but when done, would be a darn nice tractor.
The cab was junk, so that was removed. The wiring harness was burned, along with gauges, so that was also replaced.
Water had gotten in the engine during the fire put out, and things were rusted up, so the motor was overhauled with new sleeves and pistons, with a valve job, and the head was planed.
It's back in running order, but with a fire, little things are popping up.
After taking the tractor for a spin, I found out the clutch slipped badly. So the tractor was split, and a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing, along with the PTO clutch.
Tractors up and running, but noticed a little trickle of antifreeze leaking out of the back of the head. Not much, but over time, could be a lot. I didn't re torque the head, but on assembly, I used Permatex Hi Tack on both sides of the head. As I said, it was planed.
What may be causing the leak. The head was also magnifluxed for cracks. Wondering if I put some block sealer in the antifreeze, and let it get warmed up to see if that would seal it, or should a new head gasket be put in?
Also, when running, the differential lock valve was leaking, so I took that apart, and installed new seals. Now the diff lock doesn't leak, it leaks inside the right brake assembly. I looked at the exploded view of the diff lock assembly, which looks like a clutch/pressure plate configuration. The parts I would think may cause a leak, would be the 3 or 4 O-rings in the assembly.
Anybody have any thoughts on that?
The first time I took it for a spin, after bleeding the brakes, the brakes worked fine. The second time, after noticing the fluid leak out of the diff lock, the right brake started to grab, without putting the brake on. It's not letting loose either.
I knew this would be time consuming, but the tractor is worth it. It has the 1466 motor in it, with turbo, so it's around 150 HP.
Hope someone can give me some advice on these little things.
 
Well on the anti freeze leak did you check the sleeves for proper stand out . You did not have the deck of the bloc redone so this could be a problem as well as one sleeve setting to high on the bore . as to the diff lock leak ya need to replace all the O/Rings . and i am sure that you will be fighting all kinds of stuff on a burnt tractor . Did one never do another i don't care how cheap it was .
 
Well for 17 bucks, for a couple seals, got the diff lock problem solved.
As for the head, I'm going to re torque it, and thinking about adding some block sealer and running it for a while, to see if it stops. Otherwise, it will be a head pull, and check sleeves, and then replace head gasket.
From what is being said about a burned tractor, I might agree, if it was in a shed that caught on fire. This one caught on fire outside, so though it was burned, not much was burned so bad that couldn't be salvaged. Except wiring harness, and some seals. The sheet metal wasn't even warped. So a clean up, primer and paint, and it goes back on.
 
Well, got to looking real close at the engine. There is no way that I'm going to believe that only 1 cylinder is leaking at the head gasket.
Well, upon further inspection, the leak isn't coming from the head gasket, but the rear most fuel injector.
After moving the tractor, I started following the anti freeze drip. Found antifreeze coming up along side the injector. It would ooze up, leak onto the head, and roll down the back side of the engine, and on to the ground.
Apparently these are prone to leak, so a new injector sleeve{?} needs to be installed.
Talked to a couple of good old boys, who work mostly on IH tractors, and that is what they were doing when I talked to them. Replace the injector sleeve, and it will cure the problem.
