1066 water heater

I have an early 1066 that has a heater mounted in the frame that heats water, when plugged in for easy starting in the winter time. There is a line attached to it from the block , and the hose coming out the front goes to the head. The electric cord coming out the bottom broke off. It appears that this is a two piece unit, and that I should be able to pull it apart and repair, but if not, do they still sell these units. I've checked a couple parts sights so far with no luck. Any help would be appreciated . Thank you LH

Thank you for the information. I'll try to get spects, and determine if I've got mounting room, but that looks exactly like what I need. Thanks again! Lh

The freeze plug block heaters are much more effective than those add-on contraptions. IIRC you drain the block, pop the middle freeze plug out of the engine on the left side, and install the block heater. The only thing hanging off your engine is a short electrical cord.

I actually believe that the tank style work faster than the freeze plug block heater-at least that has been my experience.Mark

Because they are more than a double the watts. As I recall the frost plug one in my 886 is a 600 watt. It's slower to reach the the whole block but I am a little more at ease having 600 watts plugged in vs 1500.
