1070 power shift update

This is for eMl. I lucked out when buying a socket to get the c3 cap off. There were 3 choices & I bought a deep well w/a thin wall that fit on the cap w/no mods. to the socket. I was surprised it fit. It was the cheapest socket of the 3 which I'm sure is why it was so thin. The machine screw used to turn into the spool is a 10-24 as you said & both the spools moved pretty easy w/c3 being a little sticky. Tractor still stops a little sudden when driving out of the shed in range 1, power shift 1 when cold which I think it always did but is much better than before. It lurched to a stop. After driving it for a couple minutes it shifted fine & w/no sudden stops when pushing the clutch in. Thanks so much for your help. I was ready to use emery cloth to clean the spools which would not have been good if I got them out which I didn't know how to do. I wasn't even sure how to get the c3 cap off either until you mentioned modifying a socket which as I said wasn't necessary. I got lucky there. Your help saved me a lot of time & grief. Again, thanks so much for your help & to all the problem solvers on this great site.

D,

Thanks so much, that's what we are here for The lurching upon clutching is probably caused by a bit to tight retard adjustment on C3 retard screw. It can't be to bad as it quits doing it as soon as the oil gets a bit warm. If you cleaned the valve top you will see two slottted 7/16 bolts with locknuts, loosen the one near the C3 pressure check plug and back it out slightly and retry cold. Keep us posted.
