Steering pump is leaking on our 1070. We finally got
into the field this spring for the first time.
Tractor has a cab. The steering works fine but what
could cause this leak. I know there are 2 o rings &
2 seals. Fluid seems to be coming out at one cover
bolt. Any help with this appreciated.

The steering hand pump under the dash? Tighten the cover bolts to 20 ft. lbs. if it still leaks the hand must be removed and resealed. Ask questions here when you are going to attempt it. Resealing the hand pump is easy...taking it in and out is not....

I will tighten the bolts first & see what happens. I have worked on the draft sensing linkage under the seat so I know how difficult it is working on something in the cab. I did have the steering shaft out a while back to replace the rubber locks for the telescoping part of the steering but that wasn't that bad. Thanks for the info.
