I removed pump to have it rebuilt timed the engine to 18 degree mark on crank pulley before removing installed pump and bled out injector lines didn’t start I believe I have it 180 degrees out of time how do I fix this problem thanks for any assistance

You need to rotate the pump one rotation. Line up the timing mark. Remove the injection pump drive gear. The 3 small cap screws on the front of the gear. Rotate the pump one revolution and reinstall the gear, should fire right up.

On IH engines with the Ambac M100 pump I leave the front cover off and put it on only AFTER I have heard the engine start/run. Pump runs engine speed but the hydraulic head turns 1/2 engine speed like engine camshaft does. When I get pumps in for repair I make a note during tear down if pump came in timed on 1 or 6 and return it the same way.

Pump evidently had been turned before I installed if this ever happens to anyone else get number piston ready to fire and make sure timing mark behind the plug on injector pump is visible through the hole

That's NOT good enough. The drive hub mark is for both one and six as pump turns engine speed. The HEAD GEAR mark will be in the opening under the four screw side cover when pump is ready to fire one and hub mark aligns. If the head gear mark is NOT visible and hub mark aligns, pump is ready to fire six. I leave the front cover off when installing pumps that may have not been timed at removal. If engine starts right away, I shut it down and install the cover. If engine does not start, I reset crankshaft timing mark, remove the three pump gear bolts and turn the pump drive ONE turn and reset pump timing. I learned to do it this way because I had to install several pumps for a neighbor that would NEVER set the timing, he would just yank them off anywhere and then ask me to replace the repaired pump for him.
