I posted about this a few weeks ago. My 1086 has no brakes, steering, clutch, TA, 3 pt. lift or remote ram. The PTO works. I changed the filters and the system is 5 gallons overfull with the correct oil. I have no hydraulic function from either pump.

When you say the PTO works is that just turning with nothing attached or is it hooked to something? If it's not hooked to something it may turn with no load yet not turn on say a baler. Makes me wonder if your IPTO shaft splines are bad and gripping just enough that it turns the PTO.

I did not see the part about the no three point or remotes . You say the pto works ??? well it maybe turning as your PTo has to have pressure to set the brake so it really has not power . Now either the center on the pressure plate sheared it's rivets or the PTO input shaft has wore out . SO now it is time for a split and a clutch job and a new PTO input shaft and seals.. Crawl under the tractor with a 9/16th wrench and a lite and remove the bolts on the inspection plate and look for EXTRA pieces and parts.

If you want to split it yourself you will need stands to do it without killing yourself.

Did a 1206 and a 1586 last year with a friend.

KY I would do some serious looking before a split. If the hub is out of the back plate on the clutch the PTO will not turn because the pump on the PTO must pump oil to release the brakes on the PTO, brakes are spring loaded.
