1105 injection pump

Cleaned up the pump to see where it is
leaking and it is the throttle shaft. How
hard is it to reseal that? Guessing I can
get a reseal kit as I see different ones
for sale. If the timing of the pump is
retarded would that cause excessive smoke
at idle? Will clear up quite a bit when
warmed up and running higher ram. Thanks

It would be wise to re-seal the complete pump, patch jobs never last long as other leaks will show up soon after. Lots of white smoke when cold can mean low engine compression and/or late timing. Late timing will still show up at high speed with white smoke, a low compression engine will run better the hotter engine gets.
