1105 temp guage

The temp guage doesn't work on my 1105. The sending unit is suppose to be new. How do I check to see if it is the sending unit or guage?Or both.

The temp guage doesn't work on my 1105. The sending unit is suppose to be new. How do I check to see if it is the sending unit or guage?Or both.

Ground the wire that hooks to the sender with the key on the gauge should swing the opposite direction it does when unhooked. If it doesn’t either the gauge is not getting operating voltage, the wiring has a short or the gauge is bad. If a 1105 does not have an on/off key switch you will have to run the tractor to close the oil pressure switch that energizes the instrument circuits or place a jumper across it.
