1155 hydraulics

does anyone know if the 1155 has an open hyd system or closed. My hyd pump is shot and I want to put a new gear pump on it. also where is the main pressure relief valve?

Its a closed system. Im sure of this because I
added a set of valves for a loader & it had to be closed center type.

we just worked on an MF 1100, relief valve is in the right side of transmission cover in cab floor when we pulled cover off it had a used 1150 charge pump on it yours should be the same. cover a little hard to get, easy if you unhook stand pipe that supplies oil to charge pump hope this helps

I just replaced the main hydraulic pump in my 1135. The pressure relief valve is located in the main hyd pump. It is under a plug you unscrew from the bottom of the pump right above the front axle. Not a great place to get at. This relief valve is non adjustable and is set at about 2250psi. The hydraulic system itself is a closed center system. What do you mean when you say you want to put a new gear pump on it? Are you referring to the charge pump?

thank you for the info. I found out it is a closed system after I posted this ?. So I can't put a new gear pump on it. I bought a service manual from a dealer that is going out of business. I think I will just put an aux power steering pump on it and it will solve all my problems. The system has metal all through it and there are too many spots that can be plugged for me to make it right. Plus I don't have the time.Thank you.
