The steering and brake system is entirely separate from the main hydraulic system and RPS supply, the small line out of the pump is the supply from the 8 GPM steering and brake pump, it is entirely possible to have 8 GPM pump failure but have good hydraulic flow on the main system. On a power brake tractor , steering and brake pressure is controlled in the power brake valve, in a standard brake model there is a relief that is in the circuitry on the lines just ahead of the firewall. For a steering or brake problem you need to concentrate on the 8 GPM side, the 8 GPM circuit does go into the power shift valve to set up lube pressure regulation for the power shift. The proper way to determine pump condition (effeciency %) is with a flow meter. There are things that can give a trained guy with experience an idea but we still like to test to isolate. Forget the flow divider it is not even in the same circuit.(reply to post at 20:37:34 05/05/19)
