1194 Power steering pump

Have a family member with an 1194 that has a failed power steering pump.

The pump's seals appear to be shot and lots of power steering fluid sprays out into the fan in front of it.

Any sources for a new power steering pump or know someone who could rebuild it ?

I've had little luck trying to source parts etc, tractor runs absolutely wonderfully other than that!

I should add, that I've been told that 1194s had a different power steering pump from the 11294/1394, and that the UK destined tractors had a different pump than "export" models.

So I'm at a loss as to what to do.

It appears the pump and seal kit have been discontinued by FIAT, and I don't immediately see any aftermarket replacements.

The pump uses ball bearings (rather than bushings, as some pumps do), if the bearings have not failed it should be possible to extract the oil seal without taking the pump apart and replace it. Any reasonably talented mechanic should be able to do that, if you don't want to tackle the job.

The link below will allow you to cross reference a number on the seal to a common brand (if there is one), or to find one by measurements IF there's no numbers on the old seal.

Thanks!

So you guess it's just a shot seal?

When I plug in "K203698" which I believe to be the correct part number, it shows nothing on the linked website.

You need to get the part number or dimensions of the actual seal itself.

The pump part number or the complete seal KIT part number won't work at the site I linked.

Pumps and steering pump parts for these haven't been available for a decade or more. US and Brit spec used the same pump, don't know where you got that little tidbit. The 4 cylinder tractors use a timing gear driven pump(1294, 1394,1494), the 3 cylinder ones(1194) use a belt driven which makes it easy to adapt. I have converted several to use an off the shelf car power steering pump(late 90s Escort IIRC). The hardest part was making fitting to adapt the pressure line.

Thank you both for the replies. Much appreciated.

I think it was in a DB facebook group that someone mentioned watchout for export vs domestic part numbers, but I was unsure on this.

RGMartin,
Do you offer them for sale adapted like that?

That seems like a good idea to use a truck/car part, then if I ever need to replace it again, I'm using easily findable parts not something that's impossible to find.

I read somewhere else, that it's also possible to use a GMC 1500 steering pump.
