In actual construction, they are more like a 990 with the 3 cylinder 885 engine in them.

The 1190/94 fixed the 885s worst shortcomings, ease of getting off and on, and the odd clutch pedal angle, while sacrificing a tiny bit of its nimbleness. Many have true independent PTO with a hand clutch.

I have 4 of them around here in various forms.

I know you wrote this a year agobut it was worth a try that you still might be watching. I have a Case 1194. Seller said 1983, a mechanic said 1993? I don t know for sure. The engine overheats but no oil in water/water in oilso Water pump? I ve changed hoses and cleaned our radiator/thermostat etc.just keeps overheating. So I m ordering water pump as a last resort. The 3 point top hydraulic cylinder is stuck fast and none of the rear controls are moveableis this worth fixing if the arms go up (but have to be pushed back down). Is this tractor worth going through if the engine is still good or should I start over?

Clean the radiator and block out. Probably full of mud. Make sure the fan belt is tight. Water pumps don't go bad from what I have experienced, they just start leaking.

Is it actually overheating, or the gauge just says so(bad gauge)?

I have no idea what you are trying to say here...

Its worth fixing if you have skills and experience with a DB. Good little tractors, if you have to pay someone to fix it, you will exceed its value quickly in labor costs(very few mechanics have any knowledge of DBs, so you will be paying them to learn).

It is actually overheating. Waves of heat come off the engine and at some point the engine shuts down. I ve replaced hoses, boiled out the radiator. Water flows rapidly through the radiator without leakage. When the engine overheats it blows all the coolant out the overflow.in a cloud of steam. There is no head gasket leak though it drops a fair bit of hydraulic fluid from elsewhere on the body. Overheating is the issue and I have changed out everything BUT the water pump now. I genuinely don’t see any other possible cause. That’s why I’m asking advice. I can do the work but I don’t want to be fixing this thing every year in my retirement…not my dream.
