12 volt on 4020

Changed 4020 from 24 to 12 volt.used 3 wire delco alternator.problem I got is fan blade hit the alternator shaft. Alternator has one belt pulley but is not a sheetmetal pulley, it look like a machined pulley. Thanks

Check the alignment of the alternator belt to the waterpump and crankshaft. Usually, the alternator is too far to the rear or the engine and needs to have the alt bracket mounting holes elonged to line up. Best to get a different pulley that is offset to make this work. Might also have to flip the alternator bracket over to align also (if using old one) and trim a little off by the alternator fan blade.

I put generator pulley on alternator, both have the same I d. Now I have 1/4 inche clearance between fan and pulley. Thanks
