1212 hyd system flush

Hi everybody. Over the winter oil in the transmission on our DB 1212 got badly contaminated with water. It's been sitting with the sump cover and filter off for a few days to drain. Would like to flush the system before putting it to work this spring. Any advice on what to use and how to do it? Thanks in advance. MHG

Don't know your tractor but it seems every tractor I buy to restore has set outside. Amazing how water can find it's way into every cavity. What my hand
can't reach, I take a small rag with a stiff wire wrapped around it and mop the tight areas. When I think I've got it all, I rinse with diesel fuel and do it one
more time.

It's really hard to do IME. You can drain it and refill with diesel and run it for a minute then drain again but you'll still have residual fluid in the system. Best bet might be changing the fluid and keeping the tractor covered when not in use. You'll still get condensation, but on my 990 the rain/snow/water get by the shifter seals all the time.

Don't use diesel, I doubt the powershift will appreciate it. Figure on keeping it under roof and change the oil with a decent quality oil once a year or so until it clears up(nothing from a yellow bucket).
