12v battery for 801

I have converted my gas tractor to 12v and need to know the best size battery that fits the original battery box.
Use a GRP 25 or GRP 35 AG Type 12V Battery. Do not use a golf cart or Deep Cycle unit. Be sure to verify all the wiring is correct. 99.98% of all non-starting/non-running issues are due to incorrect wiring regardless if 6V or 12V but know many 12V conversions are done wrong. The FORD '01 Series used a GEN and a VR with 6V. They get removed and a 12V ALT is installed; 1-WIRE, DELCO 10-SI is best. Whatever you use, 6V or 12V, you must have a fan belt tensioning device attached otherwise you will never charge the battery. 12V uses smaller diameter battery cables too so invest in a good correct new set when converting. Once wiring is confirmed correct, connect BAT power and verify all is working as it should. A new ALT in system may take a bit to get going at first. Finally, I advise to invest in a good Float Charger like the DELTRAN UNIT. When tractor is idle in the barn, have it connected to keep battery life at optimum so it is ready to go when you are. A battery begins to deplete life after about week of non usage. Specific Gravity. Electrolyte. Lead Plates. Avoid just connecting your basic home garage trickle charging unit whenever battery gets low - they are not the same.
