135 power steering

I posted on here a few days ago and asked about which massey oil to use in the power steering of my 135. m-1110 or m-1129-A.
what I should have asked is what do some of you use in the power steering system. Thanks for all your help.

Depends on what's in it already. They originally used an ATF, but now some have the same oil as in the transmission. Don't mix them or it'll look like mud after a while. We found that out after the dealer put in ATF after changing the pump on our 285, even thought it had been running perma-tran for years. We change the oil in it every so often, and it's still discolored after several changes. It's getting better though.

Since no one else jumped in---

Normally I use the same hydraulic oil as for the transmission.

In the past I have used motor oils of different weights. I don"t believe it hurt anything.

Mine usually leak enough to change their own fluids anyway.

I think power steering fluid is too thin.
