1370 clutch

When I push the "inching pedal" in the gears won't stop and I can't shift 1-4 without grinding. It's worse when it warms up. Something simple or not so much? Thanks.

Then I would do a pressure check on C1,2 and 3 with pedal depressed to make sure no pressure is present. If there is not and there should not be a mechanical drag such as warped or broken disc's would be a possibility. That of course would mean a split tractor job. If there would be pressure a pilot spool or perhaps a faulty gasket in the control valve could be the source of your problem.

Ok, thanks. I have the factory repair manuals so I should be able to figure it out. Does the spool normally need cleaned? And are the gaskets you speak of available to be bought separately? Thanks again.

It is not normal that the spools need cleaning, grit and grime by-passing the hyd filters will cause them to stick in their bore. The gaskets I mentioned are the two that seal the control valve on the trans cover, there is a top and bottom. They normally do not cause a problem, but it can happen. Rod.

Is the rear gear working?
Is the transmission oil pressure normal on the meter on the dashboard when you press the pedal down?

I had this problem when the C4 clutch was broken.
