i need to drain the coolant. the valve is stuck. any ideas? do not want to break it

You might need to be prepared for a little extra work
Take off grill. It is easy enough to do. remove radiator by taking off top and lower coolant hoses.
That also is not impossible, plus you get to inspect system thoroughly and replace
hoses with new if necessary. Plus you have now done it right.

If you need to replace the upper hose be sure to get OEM only. That hose has different sizes on each end. In my experience the third party ones will not work.

I gained my experience fixing my 140 after it decided to run away into a tree. Had to replace the radiator, generator, and steering sector gear.

Might slide the lower hose back . Put many drain buckets under it to catch it, going all over the place. I also use the oil drain I got from auto parts its like 30 by 40 .to keep the earthworms as safe as I can and doggies. Always looking for a clean way to do it. Think that system holds 15 quarts

If you take radiator out . There are two stubborn carriages bolts that hold it down , they will spin on you ,if they do your in for a long time trying to get them out . Replace the bolts and the with rubber pads . Use a lot of wd 40 and soak them good . wire brush the thread to get that rust off .

My owners manual says to use washing soda and 15 quarts of water to clean out the sludge in cooling system. Leave radiator cap off and warm it up good to circulate it around. Then drain it out ., rinse and put in fresh coolant .

cant you remove the lower housing on the block then you can work on the drain
