after takin off governor and cleanin and gonna put new springs in. is there any specific way the governor geardrive goes back in? does it need to be in time?or does it matter just as long as it slides far enough in to slide over the end of dist.? thanks rusty

You need to have the timing marks lined up when you replace the gear. When you cleaned it you should have seen the timing marks. They do need to be lined up with the marks on the Cam gear or you will not be able to start your engine.
