1401D Horsepower?

Depending on the ad or chart I find on the internet, I have seen the 1401D horsepower listed as 16, 17, and 18 HP. Which is true?

I think the only definite is 14pto horsepower given by Yanmar. Tractor Data lists it at 18 engine, I put pretty good trust in their numbers. Also has about the same engine as the Ym187 which is rated at 18 horse power.

The service manual I got from Hoye was for the 169D. Do the 169 and 187 and 1401 have the same engine?

Here are the engines. Someone more knowledgable than me will have tell what the suffix differences mean. Pretty sure the 169 is rated at 16hp. Maybe the 1401 is too.

We have just acquired a YM1601D the engine plates is here:-

Which certainly says YM1601D but it's not the powershift type.

Note the engine plate says 16PS which is about 16HP. We were told it was an 18HP but it seems it's not.
