1466 repaint and repair

Been working on since December and feel like it’s taking longer than it should. Tractor has 3 coats of paint 2 coats of primer and 1 coat of sealer, anything that I took down to bare metal is getting acid etch primer first. Have all the sheet metal to do now, figured I post as we all like our projects. It sat for a few years as wire harness was junk, but it is one my early tractors when I started taking over from dad.

The sheet metal seems to go quicker especially if you use a random orbital sander. Hang in there, the best jobs take a little longer than we think they should. By the way, I hang my sheet metal like a clothes line so I can paint both sides at once, makes it a lot easier to get it painted. Don't short yourself on light, it helps a bunch to be able to see better. Keep us posted on your progress, we've been there and celebrate your success.

Good work takes time, a 1466 is not a simple tractor to take apart clean and prep and paint as you are doing, stick with it it looks like you will have a very nice tractor when you are done.

Looks good. I'd say you're making good progress.

I'm getting the same feeling with a '42 JD A I've been working on since last fall. Engine was stuck when I got it, but getting to the point that I think within the next week or so I'll have it running. I just keep telling myself even if I install just 1 bolt a per day, it'll EVENTUALLY get done.
