Is there a trick to get the shaft back into the cylinder after installing a repair kit? The piston seals tended to roll back on themselves when we pushed it in.

The V-packing is tight. I wound up orienting the v-packing the wrong direction and it goes in a bit easier that way. But stil sheared some off. It is working fine & hasn"t leaked yet. Be sure to remove the grease zerk out of the end of the cylinder before you bounce it on a board on a concrete slab floor.

Small engine piston ring squeezers or a soft drink can that one splits and wraps around seal held by hose clamps. Do you apply hyd oil to piston seal before reassembly?
