148 vs 720 loader

i always thought that the 720 loader is a massive loader when compared to the 148.

I had a 158 loader on my 4020. Best unit ever with a 7 foot bucket. And, in case you were wondering, the 148/158 loaders are NOT that hard to get off. All you do is loosen the 8 mounting bolts and then position the lever lifter on the loader arm, drop the stand, and you're in business.

Rob,

I just put my 148 back on. I sanblasted and painted it. I do not however have the lift lever or the actual stand. I do have all of the other hardware for the loader stand. I even sand blasted them and painted em. Was thinking I would measure up the neighbors 148 stand and make one. I do not have the little tube welded to the side plate for the lift lever. Have to make one of those too. I have a 7 foot bucket on my 148 and works great for what I do with it. I always thought of the 158 loader as being so much bigger cause it sticks out further in front. Not good for me because I am around buildings and in the woods alot with my 4020. Didnt know the 720 was that much larger or bigger than a 148. I have never seen one so thanks for the info.

Nylon, the 720 loader is wider across the beams but otherwise is dimensionally very similar to a 148. I also believe that the 720 has slightly larger cylinders. Hope this helps. Mike

Yep those 158 sure stick out far on a 4020,but that reach is great for loading onto trucks and trailers.
I saw some aftermarket loader on a 4020 and it looked really heavy built and pretty easy to quick tach. I think it was from Canada.

ohhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

that 158 sure stuck out there onn my 4020! made for a 17 foot lift height with 11-15 tires on the front!!!!!

You should REALLY REALLY get that bracket and stand rigged up, it works wonders!
