I have had a 2 wheel drive for 10 years. The fuel system stinks. The pump was continually losing prime until we put an electric fuel pump coming from the tank to keep the pump charged. Works good now. Engine underpowered. Hydraulics slow. With a loader the front casting likes to break right in front of the engine. Very fuel efficient. Front spindles and rear axle very well built. Have had no transmission problems.

(quoted from post at 10:11:28 08/11/13) I have had a 2 wheel drive for 10 years.

Likely, To fix your hydraulics, you just need to clean the stainer in the belly. The fuel issue is obviously an air leak somewhere, a healthy, original one will work fine.

Loaders are hard on any front end... I have seen the bolts break that hold the casting on, but never the casting, Must be heavy loader use.

As to the lack of power, unfortunately it is a small displacement engine which really needs its turbo to be spooled up to make any power. One member on here has dynoed them at well over 100hp with some minor tweeks...

I have a Loader/open station, syncro, 4x4, 1494 that I use pretty frequently. It will never be my first choice as heavy field tractor because of the lack of torque. It is handier than a shirt pocket though as a chore tractor, or to use in a pinch when field conditions are a bit wet.
