My 1500D Green has damaged needle bearings. I have replaced these and its possible that I over loaded the front end when I was trying to dig out a couple of stumps.

Regardless, I need to replace a damage gears on the right and both sets of needle bearings and shafts.

When you replace the needle bearings should they be packed with grease?

Also, I got replacement bearings for the knuckle, the large bearings from Hoye, and I don't think the old ones are bad but the new ones look permanently sealed. How does the oil get into the lower knuckle if it can't get through the bearing?

You can pack them with grease but they will be in oil so it should be OK.

There should be a slot in your casting that lets the oil by. you can also pop that seal out (it just snaps in) if you want.

OK.

Now, are there supposed to be 3 needle bearings in the knuckle gear, or 2. It seems that there is room for 3 but the part drawings on Hoye only show 2.
